Lecropt Kirk

Sunday School

Lecropt Kirk Sunday school aims to give children of all ages an understanding of Christianity in a fun and interesting way.  The intention is to lay a foundation for further studies in later life.

The Sunday school is split into four teaching groups to cater for different ages:

  • Crèche - Birth to 3 years old
  • 3 years - 6 years
  • 7 year - 10years
  • 11 years upwards

The teaching material used is from Scripture Union entitled the ‘Light’ range.  Songs, prayer, crafts, games and art are used to reinforce the teachings.

The children play an active part in family services, held quarterly and create and star in their own nativity show.  They are continually encouraged to contribute ideas including selecting which charities should receive donations; proposing venues for the annual Sunday school trip; and suggesting social gatherings.

Key annual events include:

  • Quarterly family services
  • Christmas party
  • Nativity play
  • Sunday school outing
  • Prizegiving service
