The Minister

The Revd Alison E P Britchfield MA BD

 

Alison is a native of Dundee and was educated at Harris Academy, Dundee and the Universities of Aberdeen and St Andrews.

She served as Probationer Assistant at the Old Parish Church of Hamilton from 1985 and was ordained there in March 1987.  Later that year she was inducted as minister at Culross and Torryburn, in Fife.

In 1992, she was commissioned as a Chaplain in the Royal Navy, the first female minister of the Church of Scotland to serve as a military chaplain.  The following 16 years saw service in a variety of roles, in training establishments and at sea with the First Frigate Squadron and HMS FEARLESS, as well as staff appointments as chaplain recruiter for the Royal Navy and Roval Navy Director at the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre.  Latterly she was the Chaplaincy Team Leader at HM Naval Base Clyde at Faslane.

Alison was inducted as minister at Lecropt Kirk in April 2009.

She and her husband Mike live in Bridge of Allan.
